Job Summary
 
To provide Speech-Language Pathology services to full range of human communication and voice in individuals of all ages in  Clinic and  Hospital. Meets current objectives and positions of the organization for future growth. Completes daily tasks and assignments. Builds positive relationships based on respect for others. Demonstrates a helpful positive attitude. Maintains effective communication with peers, medical staff, patients, visitors and families.
Roles and Responsibilities
Clinical Task
Prevent, evaluate, identify and diagnose speech, language and communication.

Assess the cause of the nature of the problem, for example, congenital problems (such as cleft palate) or acquired disorders.

 Treat speech, language, communication and voice.

Advise and deliver a suitable treatment in the form of short and long term plans, working on a one-to-one basis or in groups, to enable each of the patients to improve as much possible.

Provide patients with proper techniques for achieving more effective communication and voice improvement.

 Provide training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals.

Provide counselling and consultative services to the patient’s relatives.

Advise caregivers and relatives on implementing a treatment plan and train other professionals in therapy delivery.

Train support personnel.

 Work collaboratively with professionals from many other disciplines.
 
 Review and revise the therapy plan as appropriate.
 Assess patient needs and adjust treatments in accordance with patient progression.
 Monitor and evaluate patient’s progress.
 
Administrative Tasks

 Write confidential patient case notes and reports, as well as information for patients, caregivers and professionals.
Document information and write reports with details regarding patient billing, insurance, evaluations, progress, treatment and discharge of patients.
Manage caseload while taking into account priority cases, waiting lists, successful outcomes, referral and discharge of service users.
Work within a team to improve the effectiveness of service delivery.
 Refer clients when appropriate to additional educational or medical services.

Education Requirements

BSC and/or Master Speech-Language Pathology/ Speech and Language Therapy/Speech Pathology/ Speech therapy/ Speech.
Certificate of Completion of specialty training recognized by DOH or as defined by DOH PQR.
Licenses, Registrations & Certifications Requirements
 MBBS or MBChB or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution or as defined by DOH PQR.
DOH License as Speech Therapist – Language Pathologist Professional Experience Required (Relevant to the Job)
 
 Minimum 2 years of experience post specialist qualification or as defined by DOH
PQR.

 The incumbent may be required to work during weekends.

May be required to work overtime depending on the needs of the Organization.

Responsibilities

  •  Perform quality control tests in    the lab as well as on-site when necessary
  •  Assist with testing and calibrating lab equipment in preparation for specific tasks
  •  Perform quality control tests on ingredients, completed products and product samples
  •  Prepare samples prior to shipping them to customers
  •  Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure product integrity and quality control
  •  Analyze retrieved data and prepare reports for laboratory management
  •  Recognize and report any food safety issue singly clinical.

Responsibilities

  • Collect healthcare and laboratory supplies from different departments regularly, and promptly.
  • Sort, document, and disinfect all the collected equipment, instruments, tubes and bottles using the appropriate procedures.
  • Sterilize and disinfect Operate sterilization machines effectively, and ensure equipment are appropriately sterilized for reuse.
  • Disassemble, sterilize, reassemble, and pack instruments according to the infection control guidelines.
  • Infection control arrangements Monitor the sterilization process of clinical equipment and healthcare supplies to ensure a quality product and faultless outcome.
  • Record sterilizer test results, recognize disorders, and monitor expiry date; report to the Lead Nurse. 
  • Properly handle, process, and store sterilized equipment and timely distribute to the appropriate department.
  • Maintain safe and controlled environment Collaborate and coordinate with PHCC’s multidisciplinary team to maintain the safety of patients in a controlled environment.
  • Educate and guide new CSSD Technicians and trainees in performing sterilization activities and operating CSSD equipment.
  • Liaise with the biomedical section with regards to regular maintenance and calibration of the machines in the unit.
